Maria Oh Maria!

Not all love stories belong to the Mumtaz-Shahjahan genre that smell of old classic unfiltered love. Or of Salim-Anarkali age which is filled with poignant immortal passion.

Welcome to the 21st century anguished and blood-curdling tale enacted with unimaginable histrionics which shall soon hit the silver screen as an entertaining masala potboiler based on two character dheela artistes - small timer South Indian actress Maria Monica Susairaj and the part protective-part two timing ex-Naval officer-cum-fiance’ Emile Jerome Mathew.

Whatever made the fame-hungry Maria come to Mumbai is a foregone conclusion but whatever made her fiancé and partner to the crime Jerome to brutally hack media executive Neeraj Grover to 300 pieces after suspecting her bedroom companionship vomits out an ever-chilling naked truth of betrayal, jealousy and revenge that happen between a man and a woman.

Maria is free after having served three years behind bars, but the agonized Jerome is locked plain and simple for ten years all at the cost of a relationship which was perhaps two-way on both sides.

Who is the real culprit in this love-hate-sex triangle? Neither Maria nor Jerome but the human psyche that revolves around passion, lust and sex. Even if it means going against the basic principles of love and faith that keep a relationship going. How much does the judiciary system help in sorting out the ever-mysterious gamble of relationships only time will tell.
